Hi friends and Summer Home fans!

As you’ve likely heard a new season of HGTV’s Summer Home is starting soon and there will be a new host and stylist. It was a tough choice for me not to host Season 2, but when I was told the format would be moving away from design/reno to decorating I knew this wasn’t for me. I am passionate about interior design because it addresses functionality rather than aesthetic — so this didn’t feel like a good fit given the change in content. I’m sure Sam will do a lovely job hosting Season 2 and the show will still allow you escape to cottage country this summer.

I am truly grateful for all your support! It’s been touching and overwhelming.
