About Karen Sealy

Karen Sealy Interior Designer Karen Sealy is equally at ease in a hardhat or heels – and her passion and deep-rooted knowledge of the two distinct sides of design set her apart in her field. Karen was lucky enough to grow up with a father in the trades, giving her first-hand experience of the more technical aspects of renovation and construction, and introducing her to a world she would come to love and pursue.

With formal training in interior design and a degree in business and psychology, she is well prepared to create fabulous spaces that meet emotional and functional needs, that look and feel great, and stay on track and on budget.

Karen, owner of Sealy Design Inc., is a regular décor expert on the national TV show, CityLine. She was also the winner of HGTV's Designer SuperStar Challenge and has been featured in the New York Times, Elle Décor, Style at Home, and all of Canada's national newspapers as well as many other media outlets. Karen was the Designer for the 2009 Ikea “Any Space Can Be Beautiful” makeover contest, and was also a Designer for Hershey USA's Designer's Challenge Hotel Suite.

The Sealy Team

The team at Sealy Design is comprised of individuals with a broad and diverse range of experience and education. Our Business Manager manages the financial aspect of the company, including budgeting, ordering, and billing. We have an Office Manager who manages schedules and keeps the project teams organized. Our Project Manager leads our larger projects and is a liaison between the project team, the client, and the trades. We have a full complement of Interior Designers with a wide range of skill sets and experience, as well as a professional Stylist. Because of this diversity, we are able to offer our clients practical and economical service by assigning tasks to the Designer with the appropriate level of experience – and we bill accordingly. Our Senior Designers always oversee all projects, and they direct the work given to the project team, ensuring a successful project.

About Our Services

Sealy Design offers a one-stop service which includes everything from preparing permit drawings to choosing and ordering finishes and furnishings – and everything in between. With a large sample room, we can also offer products for clients to purchase. This convenience allows clients to shop for a wide range of “approved” products without all the driving around – and many of these products aren't available locally or at a retail level.
